Process

The client provides eDL the drawings along with specifications for conversion to any format as desired. eDL conversion services here in India converts them to CAD drawings utilizing their skilled manpower which included architects, engineers and industry specific professionals as per the client specifications and requirements. With global approach of business process eDL provides his clients the advantage of cost and time difference. The CAD jobs outsourced to eDL gives our clients the 12 hours forward time zone advantage with our drafting office here in India working 24x7 with online technical support services. We offer both fix price and hourly rates for projects undertaken, we can also dedicate a team at fixed prices depending upon the strength and technical qualifications required.

EDL offers different process options as outline below:

Handy CAD
The option exercises the conversion of handmade paper drawings of all sizes from A0 to A4 into AutoCAD drawings. You can send us your paper drawing or sketches via courier or fax which will be analyzed for the technicality and timeframe for converting the same in AutoCAD. On receiving the paper drawing we will convert that through our high format scanners with necessary dpi required to convert it to a raster image. Once the raster image is prepared we will either digitized the drawing in AutoCAD using software like CAD Overlay or manually redraw it, which is recommended. We will deliver the drawings back via Internet through FTP. Any corrections if required will be done free of cost for a period of six months from the date of uploading the drawings. Once the final approval is received all the original drawings will be eturned as supplied by you.

ONSITE OFFSHORE



Specs CAD
You can save a large amount of time consumed in preparing hand made drawings by using our Specs CAD option. Here onwards you will send us only the project specifications and details after opening an account with eDL ,
On receiving the same eDL we will deploy a team of experienced and professional engineers exclusively trained on your typical products and drawings. The team will convert the same in an accurate AutoCAD drawing as per the specifications. Any corrections if required will be done free of cost for a period of six months from the date of uploading the drawings.

ONSITE OFFSHORE



Combo CAD
This option is Combo of all the possibilities. We will set up a professional team exclusively dedicated to cater to your requirements. Under this an eDL team will be deployed onsite as well as offshore in India. A smaller team is deployed onsite from eDL with a larger team in India. This combination exploits the benefits of the offshore cost advantage and still maintains comfort level attached with the onsite operations. Of course this involves initial setup cost but typically it is set-off within the first couple of months of its operation. Having gained rich experience in all the above operations realities, the eDL team is best equipped to study, define and address your specific requirements to your advantage. Keeping in mind with top priority – Your bottom line.

General Process as followed by us
(i) Scanning of Paper drawing
On receiving the paper drawing we will convert that through our high format scanners with neces eDL y dpi required to convert it to a raster image.

(ii) Redrawing or digitizing the raster image to a vector CAD drawing
Once the raster image is prepared we will either digitized the drawing in AutoCAD using software like CAD Overlay or manually redraw it which is recommended.

(iii) Quality Control
Original drawing entities are manually scaled for actual dimensions and redrawn using the scanned image as a reference background. Unclear or difficult to interpret data on the original documents is placed on a “doubt” layer in the CAD file. Once the initial drafter has completed the manual redraw, a second drafter reviews the CAD file and compares it to the paper document, making adjustments

(iv) Data Receiving & Deliveries
1. Clients can ship the designs to us via courier and we will scan them and upload for them via FTP. Here we will on receiving your paper drawings or sketches will redraw the same in AutoCAD either by scanning the drawings or manually redrawing them. The drawings will be drawn as per your specifications and guidelines However we can also use default standards such as AIA guidelines. (Scanning/shipment charges will apply)

2. Scan any design drawings and upload them or email them to us

3. FTP for Clients with personalized login and user name to upload their drawings

4. Fax their handmade sketched or drawings (up to A4 size)

5. The final AutoCAD DWG files can be delivered on CD-ROM(s) or transferred to internet FTP site, accompanied by a Microsoft Excel index spreadsheet including each sheet name and corresponding file title. The CAD Group will return all original paper documents supplied by the client.

6. If necessary the project manager will plot each file and visually compare it to the original hardcopy document.  Any illegible elements from the original drawing will remain on a “doubt” layer for client verification.
